Being a musician and growing up listening to and playing "progressive rock," I was very much into music technology. Bands like Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis and Yes, were notorious for using the latest music technology.

Back then, a controversy arose around music synthesizers. Musicians unions wanted to ban synthesizers in professional music studios because, according to them, "real musicians" would be put out of work. If you wanted string sounds (violins, cellos, etc.) on your recording, you would have to hire a string section.

Today, most of the music we listen to is made with electronics. The synthesizer has resulted in 1000's of new artists and tech jobs. With that history in mind, I offer the following article pertaining to technology in the classroom...
